What you can do

This site has been archived and will not be updated in the foreseeable future. The Equality Act (H.R.5) was passed in the House on February 25th, 2021. The Senate judiciary committee held hearings on the bill on March 17th, 2021. It has not been voted on in the Senate.

Grassroots Activism

The transgender lobby is extremely well funded and has established a strong presence in many key institutions such as the Human Rights Campaign, Amnesty International, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), and the National Organization for Women (NOW).

To counter the power of this movement, we will need a massive grassroots effort

As many of us as possible will need to educate those around us, and most importantly, contact our public officials and lawmakers frequently and effectively. The aim of this website is to facilitate that effort.

To take a deeper dive into the issues implicated by the Equality Act, read our In-Depth Analysis and check out our Issues pages. The Analysis sets out in clear language exactly what the problems are with the Equality Act and how it should be revised. The Issues pages contain articles and studies that you can cite in your letters to public officials and meetings with your congressional representatives. Where possible, we also link to examples of such letters written by feminist groups.

* Check out our Letters page for sample letters to legislators, and to participate in our project to contact federal agency heads regarding the Executive Order to review their policies.

Download our guide for contacting and lobbying your legislators. It’s not as hard as you might think! Remember, they work for us and must hear our concerns.

* Download our brochures about various issues affected by the Equality Act for distribution in your community.

Sign up for action alerts to keep track of what’s happening with the legislation and to participate in group actions at critical moments. You can do that through our website, and/or with multiple feminist groups. Links are provided on our Resources page.
