This site has been archived and will not be updated in the foreseeable future. The Equality Act (H.R.5) was passed in the House on February 25th, 2021. The Senate judiciary committee held hearings on the bill on March 17th, 2021. It has not been voted on in the Senate.

Sports

Title IX was a bonanza for female sport because it requires equitable distribution of educational resources for males and females and, in the US, sport is embedded in educational institutions.

Both President Biden’s recent executive order regarding sex discrimination, and the proposed Equality Act (2019), would enshrine into federal law the emerging practice of allowing males claiming female identity to compete with women and girls.

Prisons

Passage of the Equality Act would enshrine into federal law the emerging practice of housing men who claim female identity in women’s prisons.

Already women prisoners have been sexually harassed and assaulted in prison by men claiming female identity, resulting in at least two lawsuits.

Shelters

Shelters often have communal sleeping and bathing facilities.

This puts women who are sheltered with men claiming female identity at risk of voyeurism, sexual harassment, and sexual assault.

Nine women have already sued one shelter alleging sexual harassment.

Private Spaces

Women have always had to protect themselves from men’s prying eyes when they are in varying states of undress…

The Equality Act would enshrine in federal law the growing practice of allowing men who claim female identity in women’s changing rooms, restrooms, and other private spaces.
